In two days, we'll be sadly departing from our homely middle school, well, if you can call it that. With so many of us in the Gifted program going for new programs like CyberARTs, IB, and TOPs, it's likely that some of us will lose contact with each other. However, it's also likely that some of us will not only stay in touch, but remain close friends. This is what I hope happens to the 8 writers here at Giftees United, and that we continue posting even after we go our separate ways.
Perhaps we do continue posting, and that we keep each other up to date about what's happening at our new schools, well, honestly, we're going to need a major over heave of the infrastructure we've laid down so far. Especially the name of this blog. And the "Meet the Giftees" section as well. But these are minor issues.
We all agree that the last two years of our life are the best we've ever had, but it's not like once we leave we lose those two years. Keep the memories close to your heart and you'll never lose what you've learned over the last two years. There are always new people to meet, and new things to try out, and one's got to take risks in life eventually. All great discoveries are made with trial and error anyways. Or just plain serendipity.
But in the end, life must go on, and it is here that our road ends. It is the road we've treaded so enduringly for these last 8 years, and even more so the last 2. This road has shown us many great things, and for some, some things best not seen. But not only here is where the road ends, it is also where new ones start. We stand at crossroads, filled with uncertainty, but I'm sure we can all look out for a bright future, and may we never let these two years fade from our hearts, and let us always remember the good times, the bad times, the friends, and of course, the memories, that we bring with us from J.B. Tyrrell!
I think that the name is still fine. This is a place for Giftees, and as Yaning said, once a Giftee, always a Giftee. Wherever we may be heading off, we still retain our original nature, which started for some at Terry Fox, some at Seneca Hill, and some at Tyrrell. It's kinda like a reunion. This is where we travel back a bit and remember the times we had with each other.
